- The Tailory New York is an appointment-only custom clothing company that combines the modernity of fashion design with the heritage art of custom tailoring.
- We believe that clothing is genderless, and we cater in equal measure to men, women, and non-binary individuals.
- Unlike other custom clothiers, The Tailory New York operates as a traditional design house. We create conceptual collections seasonally as well as participate in NYFW, trade shows, and various trunk shows.
- With mentions in WWD, Them (Vogue Publication), The New York Times, InStyle and other national media outlets We have garnered a reputation as the go-to clothier for custom clothing with a fashion-forward edge.
As we enter our next growth phase, we are looking for a Showroom Manager to join the team.
Responsibilities
- Maintain the organization and cleanliness of the office and showroom
- Oversee the team and flow of interns and freelancers
- Develop and maintain relationships with new and existing clients, vendors, including building management
- Ability to work directly and comfortably with people from all background/experiences regardless of age, gender, sexuality, size, race, or identity
- Is willing and eager to learn and grow with the company; You are highly motivated and care about people, helping them feel like their best and empowered through the clothes that they wear while staying on topic and on schedule.
- Can smoothly guide clients through the sales process to design their own custom suit, track sales and packages, follow up with clients, mediate complaints/concerns as needed
- Execute and manage office duties, e.g. phone system management, errands, supplies, schedules
- Assist with packing and organizing for fashion shows and pop up events
Qualifications
- 2+ years’ experience in managing a team of more than 5 people
- Strong presentation, negotiation, and closing skills
- Self-motivated and able to work independently and with the team to exceed goals
- Always thinking ahead, and super detail oriented
- Great communication skills and great leadership qualities
- Strong ability to multitask
- Previous experience with a fashion company a plus
- Experience with administrative and clerical work
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and other technical systems

- Monday to Friday
Education:
- Bachelor’s (Preferred)
Experience:
- Professional Management: minimum 2 years (Fashion Industry Experience Preferred)

Responsibilities
- You are highly motivated and care about people, helping them feel like their best and empowered through the clothes that they wear while staying on topic and on schedule.
- Ability to work directly and comfortably with people from all backgrounds/experiences regardless of age, gender, sexuality, size, race, or identity.
- Can smoothly guide clients through the sales process to design their own custom suit, track sales and packages, follow up with clients, mediate questions and concerns
- Track record of increased sales over time and report to the team
- Identify leads, manage prospects and acquire new business
- Service existing clients
- Effectively demonstrate product line
- Meet established goals for territory development and sales quotas
- This candidate should be able to support existing clients and have an ability to conduct product demonstrations.
- Must have a can-do attitude and able to work independently as well as in a team
Qualifications
- Minimum 2+ years’ experience in Sales, with proven experience in the fashion industry
- Minimum Bachelor’s College Degree in Sales, Merchandising, or other fashion sales related field
- Strong presentation, negotiation, and closing skills
- Self-motivated and able to work independently and with the team to exceed goals
- Always thinking ahead, super detail oriented, and great communication skills
- Proficiency with different payments methods and technical systems
Schedule:
- Wednesday to Sunday
Education:
- Bachelor’s (Preferred)
Experience:
- Professional Sales: minimum 2 years (Fashion Industry Experience Preferred)
