What is the concept behind The Tailory New York?
The Tailory New York is an appointment only custom clothing company that combines the modernity of Fashion Design with the heritage art of Custom Tailoring. We are also unique in the concept that we cater to both the Men and Women market.

Who are you clients?
We predominately dress male and female urban professionals working in the five major sectors: Finance, Law, Media, Real Estate and Start Up. We also have a huge foothold in the wedding market dressing both groom and bridal parties.
What type of clothing do you make?
We make tailored clothing. This includes Suits, Tuxedos, Blazers, Dress Shirts, Pants, Chinos, Vest, Overcoat, Dress and Skirts. Check out our gallery page for some images of our products.
How does it work?
The process listed in 6 simple steps.
1. Book an appointment.
The online appointment concierge is the easiest and fastest way to book an appointment with our team – just select the date and time that works best for you. All measurement consultations are complimentary and take anywhere from 30min to 1hr. If you would like to book a same day appointment or your desired appointment slot is not available, please contact the studio directly at 646.918.7777.
2. Get professionally fitted and measured.
During your fitting session, our consultants will take over 35 measurements to ensure the perfect fit. Constructing the fit of your garment is a dialogue between you and your consultant, which is why each of our consultants have years of custom tailoring experience and an in-depth knowledge of pattern making and clothing construction. A well fitting custom garment is the perfect combination of proper fit and personal preference.
3. Work with our team to design a garment that is uniquely yours.
Each custom piece we make for our clients is individually designed with plenty of extra details. Our consultants will guide you through the design process and help you personalize each piece to ensure it meets your personal taste and lifestyle. All consultations begin a PINTEREST board dedicated to you! This helps the consultant start a visual dialogue with you.
4. Every inch of your garment is speced out and specific to you.
After you have been measured and your garment has been designed, technical specifications and style details are sent to our team of manufacturers and production begins within minutes.
5. Creating a pattern that is specifically designed for you.
Every pattern is digitally cut for each and every client – no template pattern is ever used. This simply means you are able to fully customize your fit, your style and your design.
6. Your custom garment is ready for pickup in as little as 2 1/2 weeks.
With 24/7 production capability, we are able to deliver your custom items in as little as 2 1/2 weeks. And once the garment arrives, you will try it on again to make sure the fit is on point before you take it. Any further alterations are done here in midtown Manhattan. You shouldn’t have to wait to go fully custom
Do you have a showroom or storefront? Is it appointment only?
We have a showroom located at 9 East 53rd. St. 3rd Fl. We are appointment only. You can book online using our appointment concierge or simply give us a call.
I do not live in NYC, how do I place an order?
We currently do not offer fully custom pieces to clients that not are local to NYC. (we are working on it though!) However, if you love a piece from our collection, we can make it for you in ready to wear sizes. For clients, who have an extreme drop, we offer separates sizing, meaning you can buy the jacket in one size spec and the pants in another.

Do you have trunk shows or events?
We participate in New York Fashion Week twice a year as well as Bridal Fashion Week. We also throw trunk shows and special events in collaborations with our strategic partners. For invitation to these events or special promotions, please subscribe to our mailing list. We promise not to SPAM.

What is your lead time?
HOUSE MATERIAL: 2.5-3 weeks.
ITALIAN MATERIAL: 4-5 weeks.
What type of materials do you use?
Our house materials range from Super 120s to Super from 150s and it is sourced from various reputable Asian mills. We also carry super 110’s-Super 180s branded European wools from Vitale Barberis, Loro Piana, Scabal, Dormeuil, Zegna, Cerruti and Holland and Sherry. We also carry cotton shirting from Asia as well as Albini, Thomas Mason and Canclini.
How are your garments constructed?
Every pattern is digitally cut for each and every client – no template pattern is ever used. This simply means you are able to fully customize your fit, your style and your design. Our default construction is half canvas with full canvas lapels.
Can I upgrade to a full canvas suit?
Yes, you can upgrade to full canvas for $150.00
Can I upgrade to a fully handmade suit?
Yes. This is a special requirement. Please contact us for more details.
Can you copy the fit of an existing suit that I love the fit of?
Yes, we can. Please contact us for more details.
Payment and Other Matters
What is the payment method?
We take all major credit cards, gift cards and cash.
Do you handle alterations later on if I gain or lose weight?
Yes, we can. We provide complimentary alterations on our garments for a period of one month. After that, we will have to charge for the alterations.
Do you handle alterations on clothing that you did not make?
We do not handle alterations on garments we did not make. Please see Alteration Specialist for any alterations needs. If you are not local to New York. Contact us and we will recommend a local tailor for you.
Can you create a complete wardrobe solution for a client that aligns with their lifestyle?

Can I purchase gift cards?
Yes, you can. You can order them in person at our store or over the phone.
How are the gift cards delivered?
The gift cards are always delivered in a beautiful branded envelop with a 100% cotton hanky (custom monogram available).
What is the maximum amount I can purchase on a gift card?
The maximum amount you can put on a card is $1000.
What is your return or exchange policy?
We stand behind every piece of clothing we make with complete satisfaction guarantee. Because it is custom, we only offer a full refund on items that have not been cut or if we have made a mistake with our make. We can not offer cash refunds on clothing after they have been cut, however if you are not satisfied with the fit of your clothing, we will alter it to match your preferences or remake it once free of charge.
For orders that are in ready to wear sizes, we do not offer cash refund, just exchange.
