PROPER MEASURE
Every piece we create is custom-tailored to perfection. Our meticulous process involves taking over 35 body measurements, analyzing your posture, and, if needed, measuring existing garments for the most precise fit.
For virtual clients, we have partnered with one of the world's leading fit technology platforms created at Stanford University to ensure impeccable fit and design throughout the virtual process.
THE TIMELINE
Your bespoke garment typically takes 10-12 weeks to create. Opting for a Mustline fitting adds 4-6 weeks to this timeline. Alterations generally require 2 weeks. Final fittings are held at our exclusive Soho atelier. For those with tighter schedules, rush services are available. Virtual clients receive priority shipping for remote fittings, with a convenient return label for alterations.
Final Fit
We believe in a meticulous approach to bespoke tailoring, often requiring multiple fittings. That said, our experienced team frequently delivers a flawless fit in just one fitting, making the process efficient and personalized.

This is an amazing place!! When I first walked the vibe it gave me was cozy professional. I was greeted at the door and later as I came back for fittings greeted at the elevator. Working with shao and all the staff members really made me felt confident and excited in the final results of the suit. Shao was really professional as well as artistic. When we had our 2nd meeting with her going over the design she was realistic but helped us in vision how the suit would look like in the end. I never would have imagined that when we walked in we would be given a blank canvas with which we could create whatever came to our mind. The options in suit color, pattern, designs, beading, and cut really makes this a custom suit a one of one. The freedom of creativity and whatever you in vision really makes this place unique. My wife and I first got in touch with The Tailory for a very specific request, which was to see if it was possible to include a qi pao (a traditional Chinese dress) in a suit. To our delight, the answer was yes! We worked with them to create this suit for our wedding, and the process was so smooth and easy! The staff was friendly, communicative, and incredibly helpful in narrowing down all of the options to choose from (there's a lot). When I wasn't quite sure what I wanted, they were patient and asked questions to help me figure out my vision.In the process of creating my suit, my wife needed to have alterations done to their dress, and The Tailory offered to take that on as well! The attention and time they gave us for both the dress and suit is something to behold. My wife and I are so grateful to have chosen to work with them. The Tailory helped me design the long JACKET & CAPE of my dreams for my wedding! I never liked wearing dresses, and when I fell upon this company, looking for a femme/masculine/edgy style, I knew I had to pursue them to help me create the look I desired, from the custom jumpsuit and long jacket WITH SPIKES and bling! My wife was obsessed with it upon our first look and my outfit was the TALK of the night and MOST anticipated from our guests! Everyone LOVED my look and it truly reflected me and my style! I can't speak highly enough about my entire experience working with the Tailory. I wanted to get a custom suit for my wedding and really wanted to go somewhere that valued androgyny and the queer community. I had no idea what I was doing, but I knew I wanted something unique and sharp and the Tailory seemed to really stand out.In my consultation, led by the manager Silke (who is absolutely amazing), I gained a new appreciation for the true artistry that goes into making a custom suit. Silke took me through every detail and helped me make fashionable choices as I put the pieces together. I was grateful to have Silke's guidance because I can be kind of square and she pushed me to think bigger about my big day.After we put together the suit, the rest of the process was seamless. I had a few fittings where the Tailor really took care to make sure everything was absolutely perfect. The attention to detail, active listening and collaboration was really special.In the end I came away with a suit better than I had ever imagined. It was everything I wanted and (don't tell my wife) it really stole the show. I got so many compliments and more importantly I felt confident in how I looked. The idea for The Tailory New York began when I decided to direct my years of fashion design and men’s tailoring experience towards my own wardrobe. As a pantsuit aficionado and a lover of men’s fashion and tailoring, I was always drawn to tailored clothing and strived to create fashion that conveyed the same messages of confidence that a perfectly custom tailored suit did for men.
Style icons like Sean Connery and Cary Grant, as well as modern day 007 Daniel Craig (shaken not stirred) were always my style inspirations. To me, they are the epitome of refinement and sophistication, true gentlemen in style. My passion for fashion and tailoring led me through the Fashion Design program at Parsons followed by stints in custom tailoring, fashion design, fashion styling and brand development. But the more I integrated myself in the industry, the more I realized that impeccable fit, for men and women, was almost impossible to find in ready to wear clothing.
So in 2013, I launched The Tailory New York as a way for me to combine my two passions: Fashion Design and Custom Tailoring. Everyone wants to look their best and having a wardrobe curated to your body and lifestyle not only enables you to look your best but makes you feel your best.
